Having participated in sports and admiring the fluidity and graceful movement of athletes, I decided to sculpt a dancer. Ribbon Dancer evolved from many elements of life. She is part rhythmic gymnast with the ribbon flowing around her body as she dances. She is strong, and beautiful with all her energy focused on the task at hand. She is symbolic of many who work hard toward a goal, polishing and refining movement to culminate in a performance where the audience becomes so involved they are of one mind with the performer. |
